'Unter Geiern' may be as enjoyable as 'Der Schatz im Silbersee', and better than 'Old Surehand'; this is the adventure of the bear hunter, the Shoshones, the treasure belt, the phony preacher, the band wagons, the sanctimonious judge, the test of the three arrows. It has appealing landscapes, a waterfall, forest.
S. Granger has been a controvertible choice for Old Surehand. The Indian plot is more exciting than the outlaws plot.
Brice had glamour.
The idea of this series has leftovers of the '30s B westerns (like the cheap comedy, the den of the outlaws), an old-fashioned idea of what such a movie should be, but the Indians scenes are always cool, and the '60s have obviously been the right age of the cinema for this kind of yarns.
